Bitterling's Auto Service

Frankly, I've had no first hand information about this auto shop. But, I'm planning to go and experience their service. My brothers, Bob and Morton, have been their clients for quite sometime now. Based on their experience, this workshop is trustworthy, highly skilled, very honest and friendly. Their service price is reasonable and way, way below competitors around. It's indeed doubtful why some have superlative negative remarks about them. Since they're family-owned, how could they betray the trust of their clientele and friends and continue to grow and succeed in their business for many decades? I'll see for myself and go to them to service one of my cars! more

Bought car at Pankeys...had problem with heater, took to Pankey who sent car to Bitterlings. Thermostat bad, install new one and added antifreeze, non-GM type and it turned the coolant to mud. No repair after they two had weeks with car then 9 days at South Tacoma Chevy, who could not find problem. Finally to Rusty's Repair and he immediately found problem. Overheating had burnt valves and he also found RECENTLY broken parts glued together. more

The working enviroment is better than any other place I have ever worked. \r \r From the moment the customer walks in the door or calls on the phone we try to make the experience as pleasant as possible. We understand a broke down vehicle is not what you want in your day.\r \r We have been family owned and operated since 1941. They have the worst attitudes and treat you with no respect! See when you have a problem with them how they talk down to you like your stupid because they are fixing your car. Will never go there again to get my car fixed. more

OK here's my background and experience with Bitterling's auto repair in Tacoma, Washington.\r We purchased our car from Gene Pankey Motors Just a short ways from Bitterling's. ( Craig Wilson is a great salesperson, tell him Roy sent you..) They give us a break on the price of parts when we have our car repaired because we are Gene Pankeys customers.\r \r We did not take advantage of the deal when we first had our car and literally got ripped off for thousands of dollars from shops other than Bitterling's.\r \r So we finally got fed up with that kind of treatment and decided to try Bitterling's.\r \r We have been happy with the service from them - they are not perfect but they do their best to get you back on the road asap and most of all they are honest.\r \r Their work is done with them backing up the results. I'm not from Washington. My car was by the mall by World Market but I didn't know the address. Instead of trying to help figure out where I was so that he could pick me up and tow me to THEIR shop, he just yelled at me for being so stupid that I didn't know the address of CompUSA and World Market. I was already having a bad enough day and instead of being helpful he was just pure mean for no reason. As I was telling him I didn't think this would work between us he just yelled at me and told me to call back when I knew where I was and hung up on me, leaving me in tears. Way to go, buddy, picking on a lost, broke down, kid. more

I have been using Bitterlings for the last 5 years. Each time I go to them, they are informative, manage to squeezed me in, even tho they are busy.. I have had some major repairs done and they have done what they can to keep the prices down. I would never go anywhere else to have my car serviced.Most importantly, as a woman, they treat me like I have a brain and know what is going on with my car.Thanks guys.. more

I had my car towed to their shop after breaking down at work. I spoke to what seemed to be a very nice and competent gentleman. I explained the issue, my car was running fine and all of the sudden just wouldn't start. They looked at it that same day and called me. They told me it was a fuel sensor that needed to be replaced, but while they were looking they found my rear axle was about to break. No problem, I was happy to have it back up and running and the price was pretty reasonable.I got home ok, but the next day I tried to start it to go to work and guess what? It wouldn't start!I called Bitterlings and was told it sounded like the fuel pump needed to be replaced-mind you, this is the SAME issue I was having when I originally called them. They told me they would come get it (free tow this time) but I would need to pay more money for the problem they told me they fixed!The worst of it all was that they treated me like I was stupid and never even apologized.I will NEVER use their ser more
