I rarely ever write reviews for mostly they are people that did not follow rules and the result was them thinking rules do not apply to them. I was surfing and looking up companies I use and saw these 2 persons posts and I HAD to write.\r Showhomes of Atlanta is probably one of the best companies I have ever used in flipping my homes. Thought it was a ridiculous business until I researched it had some banker associates tell me they used them for their homes. I called them and was directed to Derrell Moore. I literally interrogated the poor guy but he was not intimidated or flustered and actually gave me a comfort about the business and a new respect for their business model. Told him I had several homes and an associate of mine also an investor, had 6-8 homes. He said just give him 1 home to prove themselves and if I was satisfied he would appreciate me giving him more homes and referring him to my friend. Am I ever so happy I did. They moved in a home manager quickly and discovered the home had several plumbing and repair issues from my contractors had hidden. I couldn't get the contractor to call me back and I let Mr Moore know. He gave me a couple guys to call. In the interim I later found out he actually went to the home personally and fixed several of the items for me and never called for reimbursement and refused it when I offered. He said they were easy fixes so he did them himself so the manager would be happy as well as me. Very humble man and company. The house sold quickly and they left the home in excellent shape. I gave him another home and referred the good doctor to him and he took care of about 8 homes for us combined all with first class service. Some of the homes even had missing gas mains, other remodeling issues discovered once a manager moved in and they again helped with several things at no cost to me just to help out. This company and Mr Moore will ALWAYS have a thankful group behind them. In closing, if you have a vacant home USE THEM!!!!!!! more

Showhomes Of Atlanta's home manager did not pay their last two months' water bill for their stay as they had promised even though they did have the water bill and promised that they would pay. Two years later, we got a surprise threatening letter from a collection agent (a law firm from Texas) on behalf of Fulton County Water Department for the missing two months of payment. We had to pay Fulton County Water Department immediately after we received the letter and we tried to contact Derrell Moore many times in phone calls and in emails to recoup the money but Derrell Moore completely ignored us. Stay away from this company! more

Showhomes of Atlanta Response to David C & D.L.D. (Same person as Atl30328) We have very little defense to offer on this complicated home manager arrangement. I, JJ Ortega and Derrell Moore, our operations manager, repeatedly worked on this situation with visits with the homemanager and the realtor on site more than once. We would have moved the homemanager out except that between us, the agent and the homeowner, it was determined that even with the awkward problems we had to work through to get the homemanager to correct all the items referenced in the homeowner’s complaint, the house, a 1970’s ranch in a dated neighborhood, would still be better off with someone in it than not. \r \r In the end the house sold, we terminated the homemanager from our program and tried to learn from the experience as much as possible. We are not giving up on us and we hope others who have been using us successfully in Atlanta for the past 20 years won’t either. We still boast of having an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We work hard to keep it. \r \r My apologies to the homeowner and realtor. more

Show Homes of Atlanta makes money renting homes they don't own.\r \r Their home managers get to live in homes they can't afford at below-market rents. \r \r As homeowners, we got nothing but a damaged house and no offers. Despite what Show Homes promised us, the home managers cluttered the house with cheap ugly furniture, did not keep up the house or the yard, and held a garage sale the weekend of an open house. more

When we put our house on the market, our agent urged us to stage our house using minimal furniture. The furniture we used was modern and sleek and worked well to create a bright open look.\r \r She also urged us to keep the decks free of leaves and keep the yard mowed and tidy. We could not be present when potential buyers were shown the house.\r \r After several weeks, we had to move to another city. We were going to leave the house vacant, but our agent wanted to keep the house staged and occupied and urged us to use Show Homes of Atlanta.\r \r We spoke to Mr. Ortega and he promised us that they would put a ""nice family"" in our home with ""beautiful"" furniture, who would keep up the house and the yard. He also assured us that they would work closely with our agent and follow her wishes.\r \r After Show Homes moved their tenants into our house, I stopped by to pick up some items we had left in the basement. The ""family"" turned out to be three single women from different generations. They had a large accumulation of mismatched cheap, dreary, massive furniture that did not fit our house.\r \r Show Homes ignored the wishes of our agent. The tenants did not keep up the house or the yard. They broke a vanity mirror and damaged walls. And the older woman was frequently in the house when it was being shown. \r \r Because we had signed a contract, we could not get them out of the house for three months. Despite the relatively heavy traffic of potential buyers through the house during that time, we received no offers. We had received offers before they moved in and after they moved out. \r \r Beware of this company! more

Additional Response To Atl30328 4/17/2012

As the Director of Operations for Showhomes, I wanted to also add that when the home SOLD we made sure the home was left spotless and clean and the lawn service that the home manager did not pay for the last 7 weeks was paid in full. We even went the extra mile and took care of some minor repairs that were pre-existing at the time of move in just to help everyone out. We do not want a home to ever suffer as a result of being one of our Showhomes. We want to leave a home in the same or better condition than when we received it and in this case we did just that so everyone, including the house, was squared away at closing time. more

Would not recommend using Showhomes of Atlanta. 10/23/2011

Very disappointed in Company, Service and Home Manager. \r \r - JJ sold the ""idea"" and once contract was signed we did not hear from him again. Many emails and phone calls were never returned.\r - Home manager (allegedly) sublet the property to several renters and Showhomes was very slow to react.\r - More than one Relator was turned was from showing the property saying there was not enough notice provided.\r - Home manager did not pay the lawn care on time (several months late) resulting in a loss of service. \r - Listing Relator said it made it harder to sell the property using Showhomes.\r - And the list goes on and on....\r \r Would not recommend using Showhomes of Atlanta. \r more
