Great attraction for the city! Located in Cleveland Park, it is easily accessible. Rates are very reasonable and memberships are available that will give you admission (free or reduced) at 100 other zoos around the country. The first animal you see is the elephant, and she literally seems close enough to touch. My kids always get a kick out of that. The zoo is laid out well for an easy walk, mostly in the shade which is nice in the south. They have recently undergone renovations and are moving ahead with more, making the zoo even better. Every Halloween they offer "Boo in the Zoo", a safe trick or treating experience for kids. Definite must see.
